Joseph Smith
The Teachings and Prophecies of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and other Influential Mormon leaders
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deuteronomy 18:20-22
20But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. 21And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? 22When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Having clearly established on the previous page and above what the Bible says about false prophets and the dangers of listening to such men it's essential to now look at the teachings of the primary Mormon founders. We will begin with Joseph Smith.

| that's correct. Good thing God commanded Joseph to speak, otherwise, he would be a false prophet... but he's not. |

I beg to differ on your opinion from what I have been reading about Smith. The scriptures from Deuteronomy 18:20-22 clearly shows that’s Smith fails to be a true prophet and how does the Mormon Church hide the facts about this…
Joseph Fielding Smith stated in 1972, (1972, Answers to Gospel Questions, Vol. 4, p. 112.)
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, that when I give a commandment to any of the sons of men to do work unto my name, and those sons of men go with all their might and cease not their diligence, and their enemies come upon them and hinder them from performing that work, behold it behooveth me to require that work no more at the hands of those sons of men, but to accept their offerings." |

Dr. Walter Martin taught me on tape from Deuteronomy 18:20 that once someone speaks in the name of other gods (plural) then that person is a false prophet. I remember the Mormon missionary calling my house and I gave him some hard questions and his reply was that he didn't know what polytheism means and he yelled at me and said he was only an eighteen year old kid. If someone is going to yell at me and then use age as an excuse for not knowing something then I shouldn't have to believe the eighteen year old missionary for the reason that he wasn't credible and if age is an excuse for him then I have to agree.
Mormonism teaches a plurality of gods and that fact alone falsifies Mormonism according to what God said in Deuteronomy 18:20. I can look in my Bible for my old notes but this is what I remember from memory and you can get the tape from Dr. Walter Martin because the later Dr. Martin has his own website. Oh and yes, Dr. Walter Martin has a genuine doctor's degree.
