Penance or Forgiveness?
The RCC claim Mary was without sin. The Word of God states
that all human beings have sinned.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God;
The RCC insist you must perform penance in order to be
forgiven. Yet...
Matthew 9:2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick
of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith
said unto the sick of the palsy; Son , be of good cheer;
thy sins be [forgiven] thee.
Matthew 9:6 But that ye may know that the Son of man
hath power on earth to [forgive] sins, (then saith he to
the sick of the palsy,) Arise , take up thy bed, and go
unto thine house.
Mark 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive;
and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any
time they should be converted, and <their> sins should be
[forgiven] them.
Luke 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are
many, are [forgiven]; for she loved much: but to whom
little is [forgiven], <the same> loveth little.
Luke 7:48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Luke 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in
a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee,
saying, I repent; thou shalt [forgive] him.
John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and
said unto him, Behold , thou art made whole: [sin] no
more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto
her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and [sin] no more.
Do you notice that Jesus only asked those He forgave to 'sin no
more'? Jesus and his disciples never required penance in order
to be forgiven.
1 John 1:9 If we [confess] our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us <our> sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Again, according to scritpures no penance is required in order
to be forgiven of our sins.
Then you have your 'Hail Mary's'...
Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou [prayest], enter into
thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, [pray] to
thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth
in secret shall reward thee openly.
Matthew 6:7 But when ye [pray], use not vain
repetitions, as the heathen <do>: for they think that they
shall be heard for their much speaking.
Exodus 20:2 I <am> the LORD thy God, which have brought
thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of
bondage.
Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exodus 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven
above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:
